Sr Manager Contracts
Apply Requisition ID 132356BR Date updated 02/04/2019The successful applicant will be the primary customer interface for business and contracting matters. They will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining trust and cooperation while ensuring that proposed and negotiated terms comply with company policies and guidelines. This role works closely with Raytheon leadership, Program Management, Business/Estimating, Corporate and Export/Import Operations. The successful candidate must be able to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions and advise management on contractual rights and obligations while mitigating contractual/program risks. This assignment requires an ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with external and internal customers.
This position reports directly to the LWS Director of Contracts.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years business leadership experience in contracts, or a combination of six years of contracts experience and six years of other functional experience related to business management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Law, or related field
- Experience in capture and negotiation of complex development and/or production contracts
- Experience with strategic leadership to develop innovative contracting solutions to meet program objectives
- Contract knowledge to provide business guidance to management and leadership during all phases of the program life cycle to include front-end capture, proposal, negotiation, award, and contracts execution
- Effective team player with demonstrated leadership capability
- Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- Experience with US Government and US Prime Contractor customers
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers based on understanding and trust
- Experience with negotiation and administration of large USG contracts
- Experience proposing, negotiating, and managing competitive USG contractual agreements
- Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts fundamentals
- Effective verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence and manage risk
- Proven strong work initiative and ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s or Juris Doctor Degree
- Demonstrated ability to identify and shape innovative defence and commercial project opportunities to assist successful capture campaigns
- Demonstrated success working within a matrix organizational environment
- Proven track record of achieving desired results
- Some experience with International Contracts
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
