Combat Systems Operations Lead

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Combat System (CS) Operations Lead based at Techport SA working within the Shipbuilding team.
The CS Operations Lead is responsible for facilitating the efficient and effective use of resources across the CS Enterprise work fronts of the surface combatants, supporting activities such as in-service maintenance support, warranty claims, urgent defect requests, ships in-build, update, and modernisation. The CS Operations Lead is required to work with the product groups within the CS Integrated Project Team, external stakeholders and vendors to ensure the long term plans are executable and the customers’ expectations are fulfilled with respect to CS upkeep and product delivery into the surface combatants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyses factors of project success in areas such as engineering, program resources within the Shipbuilding business units to determine the most practical and cost efficient way to achieve project objectives
  • Formulates and recommends corrective actions in the form of schedule revisions, resource adjustments and work requirements
  • Assess project issues and assist in the development of resolution options to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Provide support and direction to relevant stakeholders to ensure contractual agreements have been met with regards to Warranty and Delivery certificate items
  • Tracking and reporting on Project cost, schedule and scope control and management

Skills Experience and Qualifications

  • Good understanding of PMBOK principles and concepts and their application in support of project success
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or Project Management or other equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar Project Officer / Business Administration role and environment
  • Experience in tracking and managing documentation and project cost and scope management and the risk management process
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1
