Software Engineering Intern
Bring your talent and skills to Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Software Engineering Team!
IIS in Marlboro, MA, is seeking Software Engineering Interns with the technical and communication skills needed to support ongoing and emerging Air Traffic System (ATS) programs consisting of Air Traffic Control Automation Systems and Next Generation (NexGen) weather data processing systems.
As a Software Engineering Intern, the candidate will support engineering activities including software requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration and test, and support to system selloff.Additional duties may include support to software documentation, defect resolution, customer presentations, and process and tooling improvements. Candidates must be professional, a self-starter and possess a positive attitude. It is important that the candidate has a willingness to learn program/organizational processes and procedures and be willing to engage the staff within an Agile collaborative development framework such as Scrum or Scrumban.
Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:
- Fundamental engineering skills
- Programming skills in C, C++, and/or Java/J2EE
- Proficiency in Unix, Linux, and/or Windows
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Good oral and written communication skills
This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment using agile methods and tools
- Course work in software engineering
- Course work in modern application architectures and/or methodologies
- Course work in requirements analysis, development, traceability and verification
- Course work on Technical Writing
Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a technical degree in the area of Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics, and is maintaining a minimum of a 3.0 in a 4.0 grade scale. Please include your transcript with your resume.
This position can be Salary Grade ST02, Salary Grade ST03, or Salary Grade ST04 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
· ST02 (TechStudent-Sophomore) – must have completed 30 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2018.
· ST03 (TechStudent–Junior) – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2018.
· ST04 (TechStudent-Senior) – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2018.
