The RESP Department is the focal point for receiver, exciter, beam steering, and signal processing technology. The department is responsible for the design, development, integration, and lifecycle support of IDS products. Engineers within the department are able to move across focal points and stages of the system development lifecycle.
Embedded Software Engineers in this position will be responsible for supporting multiple programs and multiple platforms. Successful candidates will be expected to perform as individual contributors leading embedded software engineering supporting high performing Integrated Product Team and mentoring junior engineers.
This position is posted as a RESP department opportunity, however, the candidate would be considered for other departments within EDD based on the directorates needs.
This position can be a Salary Grade G10 or G11 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they related to their skills, experience, and responsibilities as they relate to the position.
- 10+ years of experience in the field of engineering or related technical disciplines
- Experience leading a small team of software engineers or acting as a Subject Mater Expert
- Experience developing C or C++ applications
- Experience in high performance, multi-threaded embedded software designs
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems such as VxWorks, FreeRTOS, LynxOS, or Integrity
- Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Security Clearance
- Prior experience with Defense Radar Design and/or Development programs
- Experience in developing applications for Microblaze, Nios, or other soft-core processing platforms
- Design experience in the following radar system areas: receiver, exciter, waveforms, digital beamforming, signal processing
- Experience using MATLAB
- Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Computer Science (Advance Degrees preferred)
