IIS (IISFE) is currently seeking a Principal Field Engineer – Radar. The position will be in Raytheon Marlboro office and will provide construction support services including shop drawing review, vendor surveillance (if required), responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and/or Requests for Variance (RFV) as required, field inspection services and coordination from afield Engineering perspective . Submittals for major equipment shall be reviewed for approval and be provided “for information” to the Government. Responses to RFIs and/or RFVs shall be provided “for information” to the Contractor and the Government.
The Principal Field Engineer will attend and participate in two on-board design reviews. Through the design reviews the designers of record shall update, finalize and present design analyses with calculations necessary to substantiate and support all site design documents submitted. Design reviews will be held at Preliminary and Final Design Review milestones. Most design reviews will be held in Massachusetts. Each review is expected to require two days of technical presentations and discussions. Reviews will address and attempt to resolve all open design issues. Technical reviewers from each commenting agency will attend these reviews. The Principal Field Engineer will coordinate and resolve comments and submit Minutes to Raytheon for subsequent distribution. The Principal Field Engineer will incorporate accepted comments into subsequent design documentation as appropriate.
The Principal Field Engineer will deploy as a Lead on the program during the OCONUS onsite installation .The installation is estimated to last a year.
Must be a US citizen with active DOD secret clearance to start
Must have at least 8 years’ experience in facility, system and equipment design, installation and integration including site preparation, space layout and construction planning. Experience gained shall include a minimum of three years in project management functions such as field coordination, planning, cost estimating and scheduling installation and integration of equipment’s and systems at multiple sites.
Installs, checks out, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment and manages multiple tasks within the product support function for large phased-array radar systems. Ten years previous experience providing technical support in RF /Radar areas
Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats regarding technical issues. Experience in dealing with customer representatives and in coordinating actions with other contractors. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of desktop application software. Familiar with Raytheon practices regarding technical documentation. Familiar with US Department of Defense testing and acceptance practices for facilities sub-systems. Prior experience in Radar System performance analysis or Radar Operations. Maintenance experience in support of phased-array radar systems.
Must be willing to work long hours on varying shifts.
Periodic business OCNUS/CONUS travel will be required.
Bachelor's Degree in related field and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. May substitute experience for education. (i.e., no degree with 16 years of related experience, Associate's degree with 12 years of experience.)
