IIS Hardware & Infrastructure Engineering's Electrical & Mechanical Design Department leads the mechanical and electrical hardware design, development and production of DoD, international military and COTS Air Traffic Control Systems.
The Air Traffic Management Mechanical Design Section, located in Marlborough, MA is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer II/III (G07/G08) to support the design and development of various design tasks for established programs as well as support to production in the factory and field support.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Mechanical design and documentation of hardware such as electronic equipment racks, air traffic management consoles, design and development of various design tasks for established programs as well as support to production in the factory and field support, Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs); participating/holding design reviews and resolving action items, generating design artifacts such as technical drawings, documentation release and change incorporation, working with suppliers to develop/update designs as needed. US Citizenship is required due to the candidate needing to obtain a Security Clearance at a later date.
• 2+ years engineering design experience with a focus on hardware development
• Proficient in modeling, parts generation, assemblies and vaulting of designs using Creo (Pro/Engineer)
• General knowledge of configuration management, and system configuration methods
• Proven written and oral communications skills, including presentation skills
• Self-motivated and results oriented
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance. US Citizenship Required.
Required Education (including Major): Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with thermal and vibration analysis of CCAs
• Experience with thermal analysis tools such as Flotherm
• Experience with structural analysis tools such as ANSYS
• Ability and willingness to travel
Note: this position is hiring a G07/G08 level depending on experience level of applicant.
