Field Engineer II

Job Description:
IIS's (IISFE) Air Traffic Management Program Office in Marlboro, MA is currently seeking a Sr. Field Engineer I to provide technical field support and maintenance for the AN/TPN-31 Air Traffic Navigation Integration and Control Systems (ATNAVICS), a mobile state of the art integrated radar and air traffic control system. As our Field Engineer, you will travel full time to various US military bases through-out the world and support military Army airfield and airport mobile deployments and checkouts. Must be able to analyze equipment failures to determine cause, develop specification compliant solutions and recommend corrective actions of Raytheon's ATNAVICS utilizing Raytheon technical and/or vendor documentation at various military facilities within the continental U.S. and foreign locations. In this role, you will be our primary point of contact for on-site customer interaction. You will participate in project planning and report on the execution of work schedules for all phases of the site preparation, installation and integration of systems to insure schedule deadlines are met. You will inspect site preparation activity and site design packages for completeness, errors, and recommend corrective action to meet contract requirements. You must be willing to live and work on Military Facilities around the world to include Kuwait/Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea and Germany for up to a one year assignment.

Travel is 90% from your home base. Candidate will report remotely to the Field Manager at the ATNAVICS home office in Marlborough, MA

Required Skills:
  • At least 10 years experience with field repair and maintenance of radar and computer systems.
  • At least 2 years of that experience on air traffic control radar systems.
  • Experience in electronic equipment installation and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and repair complicated electronics/computer systems.
  • Secret Security clearance.

Desired Skills:
Experience with Raytheon Radar and/or Radar Automation Systems including ATNAVICS, FBPAR, DASR and/or the AutoTrac series of automation systems is highly desirable. Familiarity the UNIX and/or Linux operating systems to the command line level is desired. Active duty or reserve military experience is desirable, but not required. Experience working in the field, independently as a Field Service Engineer or representative is desired.

Required Education (including Major):
A Bachelors degree in Electronics or Business is preferred, OR advanced Military/Technical schooling on military Air Traffic Control radar systems with at least 2 years’ experience, OR an Associate Degree in a technical field and 6 years of relevant experience OR HS and 10 years’ experience. 104503
