Cyber Security Network Engineer

GCS is seeking a Subject Matter Expert on best solution practices, security, design solutions, recommended courses of action, articulate innovative design approaches, develop test and evaluation methodologies geared toward the defense of the Department of Defense networks. The candidate will provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture to meet present and anticipated future capacity requirements; recommend hardware, software, implementation techniques and tools. In addition, the IANE will participate in the installation, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network security hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network security hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Required Skills

·Degree or equivalent experience

·Must have 6 years of professional experience

·Demonstrate a 5-year track record supporting enterprise security environments utilizing firewalls such as the Cisco PIX or ASA and web proxy devices such as the Blue Coat SG.

·Must have 3 years subject matter expertise in switching and routing configuration and troubleshooting along with utilizing network management tools to include system logging and event management.

·Experience with Cisco switching and routing equipment. Professional experience using network troubleshooting tools such as nmap, Cisco Works, and packet sniffers.

·Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a clearance.

·Must havea CASP or equivalent certification

·Must have a CCNP or equivalent certification

·Excellent communication skills both oral and written

·Must be team oriented

  • Able to meet overseas medical deployment qualifications.
  • Willing to travel with the military to locations throughout Southwest Asia, as required, to support the military customer at their location(s) via military air/land convoy.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a bivouac environment.
  • Willing to travel to overseas locations for a 1 year unaccompanied deployment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations.
