Summary of Role
The Weapons Team supports the design, development, production and integration activities associated with the Paveway® IV Weapon System.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an engineer to join the Weapons Team as a Modelling and Simulation Engineer, specifically supporting the internal research and development programmes currently in place and the development of future areas of study.
The successful applicant will also be required to support other areas of the Raytheon business.

The role will be based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility and the successful applicant will report directly to the Future Systems Lead.

Main Duties

The successful applicant will participate in specific areas of study that are focussed on the development of novel technologies from low TRL through the product lifecycle. This would include qualification, production and capability enhancements.

There will be opportunities to form strategic alliances with other Defence Contractors in order to execute the role. As such, the successful candidate shall be expected to provide a technical interface with potential team-mates / suppliers.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Degree in an engineering (or related) subject and possess a good grounding in maths / physics
• The successful candidate shall be experienced with MATLAB, Simulink (desirable) and have general programming skills.
• Experience in Systems Engineering and its application including requirements capture and generation of test specifications and test reports
• A proven problem solver with strong technical and analytical ability
• Able to converse with the Suppliers / Customers on a technical and programme level
• Excellent communicator, both written and verbally
• Experience of analysing and reporting on technical data
• Be prepared to work away from Harlow for up to 3 days per fortnight
• Must be eligible for UK DV Clearance.

Desirable
• Experience in generic Systems Architecture, Sys ML and DOORS
• Experience at presenting technical data to Stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the certification process as part of the overall system lifecycle.
• Experience of planning, estimating and defining engineering tasks
• Digital signal processing experience
