The Lead Security Analyst is a key role within the Security and Network Operations team. Reporting to the vSNOC manager your role is to maximise the effectiveness of IT security services by developing people, content and platforms in pursuit of reducing business risk faced from cyber threats and privacy issues.
You will be a technical individual who is adept at operating across many domains including infrastructure, cloud and applications with a remit of driving cyber best practise and maturing our operation. You will be expected to set direction and manage service partners to ensure tooling, solutions and services are available and operating as required.
> Ensure tooling, sensors and systems are placed, available and maintained to meet operational requirements
> In conjunction with Cyber Threat resources identify trends, hunt for new threats and mitigate as required
> Development of SOP’s, use cases and content within SIEM to support operations
> Manage and coordinate services partner activity to complement internal service and technical change delivery
> Planning, preparing and executing technology and service change across a rapidly evolving environment
> Support development of colleagues to maintain pace with the latest cyber trends and threats
A subject matter expert across any of the following; SIEM, Intrusion detection, Content Inspection, Vulnerability Identification or Threat Intelligence
You will be a self-starter with the ability to assess impact and prioritise your own workload.
Experience of working in a SOC and coordinating analyst activity aligned to use cases
Experience of SIEM Engineering including on-boarding, troubleshooting and administration of log sources
Ability to obtain and maintain full UK Secret clearance
Experienced in working with TCP/IP, next generation Firewall technologies such as Forcepoint, Cisco, Microsoft etc and packet capture technology
Industry qualification such as CISSP, CEH or CMI Malware Investigations
Excellent customer facing skills and are willing to establish relationships with industry, national and international agencies.
Experience of creating apps, utilities or scripting in Power shell, Perl or PythonExperience of working in MOD and/or other regulated industries i.e. banking, telecommunications
Experience of use case development identifying privacy and data threats
An understanding of designing and implementing secure systems to HMG security requirements.
Any knowledge of cyber security frameworks, models and standards such as CIS, NIST CSF, NIST 800-171 &53 or ISO27001.
Experience of delivering and or managing IT based security services aligned to the ITIL framework
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Cyber Security or proven experience in a similar area of expertise
