An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to work within our Air Warfare Destroyer Combat System Integrator (CSI) program at our Garden Island facility. The Quality Manager is responsible for the establishment, implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System (QMS) compliant to the International QMS Standard AS/NZS ISO9001-2015 and the Raytheon Management System. As a trusted partner within the program, the Quality Manager is required to provide expert advice to the Program Manager and project staff on all matters relating to quality assurance while promoting and developing a continuous improvement culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement and maintain a quality management system and ensure continuing certification to the ISO standard
  • Develop and maintain audit schedules, as well as ensuring effective coordination with other audit activities across the organisation
  • Conduct internal audit in accordance with the approved audit program, and prepare and present audit reports
  • Establish and maintain corrective and improvement actions related to projects using the Opportunity for Improvement System including generation of periodic reports and follow-up on outstanding items ensure closure in a timely manner
  • Support the conduct of customer audit, and manage and monitor customer identified issues through to resolution
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Degree Qualification in Engineering preferably in Electrical, Electronics, Computing, Information, Technology, Mechanical disciplines, or equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of audit planning, scheduling, conducting and reporting, root cause analysis
  • Sound understanding of management system establishment, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated understanding of the International Quality Management System Standard ISO9001-2015 and other related ISO standards, Military and Defence Standards
  • Experience in continuous improvement projects including process improvements
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Australian Government (Defence) Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
