The Systems Architecture Design and Integration Directorate (SADID) is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The Operations Analysis and Simulation (OAS) Department is looking for Engineers to conduct analyses and support programs across the IDS portfolio, including surface Navy, undersea Navy, missile defense sensors, interceptors, command and control, integrated air and missile defense systems and space surveillance systems. The work is classified and the candidate must have at least a DoD SECRET clearance.
In our experience, diversity of talent and thought is what drives innovation and we are looking for motivated engineers with subject matter expertise in software and C++ at our Schriever AFB, Colorado location. The Engineer will work with a team of engineers and analysts in the architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of a suite of sensor models, used for element and system level analysis, and for verification and validation of models and simulations.
The Engineer will participate on an agile software development team and will contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle. Primary responsibilities will be development, debug and unit testing of C++ source code, high-level and detailed design including the creation of design artifacts, and collaboration with test and analysis engineers to ensure the developed product meets requirements.
•6+ years relevant experience to include C++ software development.
•Current and Active SECRET Security Clearance
•Knowledge of system/software development life cycles and agile development practices.
•Familiarity with distributed computing systems and/or real-time computing/messaging systems.
•Familiarity with Windows, UNIX, and/or Linux operating systems.
•Experience with System / Software Integration and Test activities.
•Ability to work at a government facility within a multi-contractor team environment.
•Missile defense domain knowledge
•Strong verbal/written communication skills.
•Experience with Software Baseline Control Management processes/procedures.
•Familiarity with MatLab, Nagios, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Oracle, MySQL, and SharePoint, or related applications.
•Familiarity with software CM processes and experience in a development environment is strongly desired.
•Experience in complex system assessment/analysis; with exceptional attention to detail.
•Knowledge of system architectures, networks, and operations.
•Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic discrete event simulation platform
•Experience with risk management, issue resolution, problem solving and customer service.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
Note: This position can be a Salary Grade G09 or Salary Grade G10 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
