This opportunity will see you become part of an innovative and exciting project to establish Electronic Warfare training ranges in Australia to support the ADF

As part of the Mobile Threat Training Emitting System (MTTES) project, the System Engineer - Radar and RF Communications will contribute to our mission by providing technical solutions to a wide range of challenging (and interesting) problems to meet the customer capability needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • RADHAZ analysis and testing
  • Antenna and propagation analysis
  • Spectrum planning and applications to DSO or ACMA
  • EMI/EMC analysis and testing including co-site
  • Ensure deliverables are consistent with project standards and procedures

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant engineering discipline with eligibility for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
  • At least 4 - 6 years’ experience in Systems Engineering involving one or more of the following: requirements definition, requirements management, analysis, design, verification and validation
  • Experience with design, operation and maintenance of radars including maritime, air traffic control and defence systems
  • Experience with radio hardware design, installation and configuration including microwave backhaul, base station, air-ground-air and vehicle mounted tactical systems
  • The successful applicant must be eligible to obtain and maintain up to Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
