Principal HR Generalist

Job Description:

Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for you to join our experienced team as a Human Resources Generalist supporting programs in the Mission Systems sub-Mission area in IIS’s Mission Support and Modernization Mission Area.

You will be accountable for the execution of core HR processes that support and enable the strategic direction and objectives of the Mission Support and Modernization Mission Area. This position will require you to lead front-line and mid-level managers in the execution of, but not limited to, the following:

·Execution of key HR processes, including compensation, performance management, talent acquisition, talent development and workforce planning

·Advocate and drive for the resolution of employee issues and concerns including internal investigations, corrective actions and coaching

·Builds credible relationships with front and mid-level leaders through trust, collaboration and effective communication

·Applies sound judgment to identify issues and prescribe HR solutions in ambiguous situations with confidence

·Develops a reputation as a neutral and approachable HRG focused on employees, front and mid-level managers and the organization

·Collaborates with the HR Business Partner, HR Operations Center, and Centers of Excellence to provide high-impact HR solutions

·Serves as a trusted advisor to front and mid-level leaders and employees.

·Embraces and models Raytheon’s core values, integrity and accountability to further advance the organizational culture

·Consistent application of Raytheon HR policies to mitigate risk and ensure equitable solutions

·Apply service excellence concepts to the HR Generalist role and demonstrate key behaviors, actions and competencies that support everyday excellence

·Leverages organizational effectiveness tools such as the New Leader Integration and Leader and Team 360 Assessments to build and improve team and leader effectiveness


·At least 6 years applicable and progressive human resources experience

·Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or related field

·Experience communicating and implementing team-based initiatives, training, leadership development, employee communications, and compensation and benefits in support of the goals and strategic objectives.

·Direct experience in the timely and proactive resolution of employee relations matters including investigations, corrective actions and coaching; focus on creating a positive employee relations environment and culture

·Knowledge of EEO/Compliance and the impact to key HR processes

·Experience providing guidance and counsel to leaders and employees with regard to programs, policies and procedures, and developmental coaching and feedback to employees, front and mid-level managers

·Experience interpreting and providing guidance in accordance with the Service Contract Act

·Strong change management skills and the ability to partner with leaders to lead change; Detects organizational trends and alerts HR peers and managers to enable appropriate action

·Ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed environment, demonstrated collaboration skills

·Excellent verbal, listening and written communication and presentation skills

·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think through impact of key decisions

·Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization

·Strong business acumen and diverse business perspective

·Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to use these tools to analyze and present organization information

·Requires some travel

Desirable Skills / Experiences:

·HRCI Certification (PHR, SPHR, GPHR)

Secret clearance preferred

·Human Resources Management experience in the defense industry

·Experience and understanding of a wide array of Human Resources management systems (PeopleSoft, Cognos, etc.) and tools, including talent and performance management, compensation, and rewards systems

·Applies critical and systems thinking and can anticipate and integrate the second and third order effects into any workforce solution

·Master's Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Management or related field; MBA
