Senior Technical Planner II

In this position, the successful candidate will report too, and take direction from the Program Planning Manager; will work in a dynamic team environment and is expected to adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the program. The position will assist in the development and maintenance of the programs time-phased, resource loaded Integrated Master Schedule (IMS); assist in creation and maintenance of high level program Master Phasing Schedules (MPS), as well as perform weekly/monthly statusing, reporting, monitoring, and analysis support to Control Account Managers (CAMs) and the Program Manager.

Individual responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Work with engineers to develop detailed schedule baseline plans
  • Analyze the schedule to ensure that it is realistic and that it follows sound scheduling principles
  • Work with engineers on key items in the schedule to explore alternatives in an effort to improve the probability of success
  • Maintain the schedule on a recurring basis, updating it with actual performance/status
  • Compare current schedule to the baseline plan to gauge the level of performance
  • Generation of reports related to schedule performance
  • Manage changes to the baseline plan as needed, via the program Baseline Change Request process (BCRs)
Required Skills:
  • 6+ years of experience in Project Scheduling/Planning roles
  • Must be a US Citizen with current/active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Advanced understanding of scheduling philosophies, processes, and techniques
  • Ability to work individually, or as directed, in a team environment
  • Committed to meeting deadlines
  • Analytical disposition with excellent problem solving skills
  • The ability to quickly/easily adjust to changing priorities/direction
  • Advanced abilities/experience with MS Project scheduling software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Desired Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Knowledge of Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and its relationship to the Integrated Master Schedule
  • Familiarity with Schedule Risk Assessments and related softwares
  • Strong spreadsheet skills
Required Education:
  • BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, or other technical related field.
