The Systems Design Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). Supporting this mission are teams providing domain expertise and creative solutions in surveillance, naval and missile defense based radar system design, sonar and undersea sensor system design, integrated air and missile defense systems engineering, command and control/battle management system design, combat system and platform architecture design and integration, operational analysis and simulation modeling research and development, software intensive system engineering, cyber solutions and algorithm development for signal processing, tracking and discrimination systems. The Operations Analysis and Simulation Department within SADID has a charter to conduct analyses and support programs across the IDS portfolio, including surface Navy, undersea Navy, missile defense sensors, interceptors, command and control, integrated air and missile defense systems and space surveillance systems. The work is classified and the candidate must have at least a DoD SECRET clearance.
The Systems Engineer will take part on teams responsible for delivering measurable mission effectiveness performance and cost benefit results for a range of complex and advanced technology warfighting architectures specifically (although not exclusively) focused on IDS systems. The Analyst work with business development staff to create and model advanced technology options to support new captures and other product line growth opportunities spanning the product lifecycle: design, development, production, sustainment/support, and obsolescence. The Engineer must effectively communicate and present convincing results to the team/customer.
- 8+ years of technical work related experience
- Experience participating and supporting analyses and studies to include understanding how to define and execute a study.
- Experience evaluating new concepts of operation and developing new technology use cases. Strong technical and analytical skills to develop credible results for presenting to customer.
- Knowledge of principals such as CONOPs, system tradeoff analysis, threat definitions and system of system assessments.
- Current active SECRET clearance
- Strong System Knowledge in warfighting Domains, including at least one of the following: Air Defense, Ballistic Missile Defense, Ship Self-Defense, Air/Land/Sea/Joint C4I, Operations in a Cyber Contested Environment, Network Centric Operations, Air Traffic Management, Critical Infrastructure Protection
- Current Extended Background Check with polygraph
- MS or PhD in Engineering, Science or Mathematics
- BS/BA in Engineering, Science or Mathematics.
