Position Description
Raytheon Rancho Innovations (RRI), an off-site of Raytheon Missile Systems, specializes in developing system concepts and hardware. It is an integrated organization that is able to react quickly to customer requirements to develop and demonstrate new technologies and applications. A typical project involves concept development, design, fabrication, and system integration resulting in a field demonstration of the new technology/prototype system.
Job Description:
*Junior level intern position in which the candidate will contribute to exciting research and development efforts. Assignment may include work with RF sensors, electronics, or subsystems for various programs. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, aiding in the design, development, test, or analysis of prototypes or technology demonstrations. The position will involve working with multi-disciplined teams in order to solve problems.
*Junior is defined as a student that has completed enough hours to be classified as a junior. The expected graduation date would be in the Spring or Summer of 2014.
Required Skills:
Completion of at least one engineering lab course, including familiarization with EE lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
Proficiency in Matlab
Satisfactory completion of at least one year of calculus and one year of college-level physics
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite for research, documentation, presentations and office tasks
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to ask questions and the ability to quickly learn necessary skills
Ability to attain Secret Level Clearance
Desired Experience and Skills:
A minimum GPA of 3.20/4.00
The ability to work independently without close supervision, to work well in teams, and to communicate both informally and formally (e.g. reports or presentations)
Required Education (including Major):
Junior status pursuing a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics.
